Abstract

An investigation on the global and severe incidence of virtual aggressions in sentimental relationships is reported, as well as the student experience in cybervictimization, cyberaggression and observation, among 6,952 students in the State of Mexico. A questionnaire was applied through Google Forms (75 questions), in concurrence with virtualized ethnography, the results highlight a global incidence of 40.7% of the students who were involved in cyberviolence in the context of sentimental relationships. Courtship bullying is cyber-aggression suffered with severe involvement. Four out of ten stated that they had received threats from their partner or ex-partner or from a friend or from their current partner; men and women were equally affected. It is concluded: although the couples are connected, they are separated. Cyberspace gives netizens the ability to act from a distance, which exacerbates jealousy, behavior control, possession and domination of their partners. In addition, from the denigration of them, hateful insults, sexism and digital sexual violence against women and PNB are deployed in parallel, mainly. In this sense, the student narrative has revealed the effect of unfortunate love affairs on contemporary subjectivity and outlines a piece of the puzzle of the subjective malaise of the adolescent and youth population.
