Abstract

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is characterized by a group of symptoms that appear after exposure to one or more life-threatening events. Although there are specialized evidence-based treatments, some limitations have been identified regarding the training of mental health professionals for adequate therapeutic management. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of an online program for the identification and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and related disorders, with the purpose of obtaining relevant information on the effects of the course and diploma taught in clinical practice. The study evaluated 167 participants who graduated after six months of completing the program. The evaluation was about their performance in the identification and care of patients exposed to trauma. The results show a positive impact of the program on the detection, diagnosis and treatment plans implemented by the participants. Training evaluation refers to relevant information on the effects of the training program in order to reflect, analyze and improve its effectiveness and efficiency.
